02 / MAKE IT RECOGNISABLE

An identity that belongs to your business.

A mark, a set of colours, the right type and a consistent way to use them. Built for the places your business actually appears.

Discuss logo & identity

Design around the real job.

A logo may need to work on a phone screen, a shopfront, a uniform or a supplier document. Tell us where yours needs to appear. We discuss the audience, name, sector and existing artwork before developing the visual direction.

Bring the current files when you have them. We can assess what is usable and whether the business needs an entirely new identity or a careful refinement. The scope identifies the versions and applications to be produced.

Explore a direction you can explain.

Concepts should have a reason for their shape, spacing and colour. We present the thinking alongside the artwork so you can evaluate the fit with your business. Useful feedback describes the problem: too formal for the audience, difficult to read at a small size, or too close to another name.

We agree who will make the final decision and how feedback is collected. That keeps the project moving through a clear set of revisions and avoids several incompatible directions being combined into one mark.

Check it where it will be used.

We review the selected identity at practical sizes and against the backgrounds it needs to work on. Supporting colours, typography and layout examples help it carry through to proposals, social graphics and website pages. Print production, signage and specialist fabrication are scoped separately.

A colour pairing needs enough contrast for the text placed on it. The Studio Desk includes a checker for an early look at a pairing; the finished applications still need their own review.

Hand over a usable identity.

The handover lists the approved artwork and files supplied. Vector artwork is useful where the mark must scale. Everyday image exports serve different purposes, including transparent-background use on a website. We label the versions so your team can find the right file.

We also document typefaces, relevant licensing responsibilities and the agreed design rights. Trademark clearance is a separate professional task. Before investing in a new name or mark, discuss suitable checks for the markets where it will be used.

BEFORE WE START

A few useful
answers.

Can you work with our existing logo?

Yes. Supply the highest-quality original files available and explain what is causing difficulty. We will scope a refinement or new identity accordingly.

Will we receive editable files?

The agreed handover identifies the editable master and export formats. Font and third-party asset licences are addressed separately.

Does logo design include trademark registration?

No. Registration and legal clearance require a separately agreed process with appropriate professional advice.

Bring the question.

Tell us what the business needs. We will work through the next step with you.
